“Thanks, Morna. I used to go to a lot of tango events pre covid and still go now, though not to as many. I used to take videos of the performers and teachers but got into taking photos of the dancers instead purely by accident. (You'll see one on my gallery page.) But I always wanted to have blur or motion in the photos to show the movement, whereas a lot of publicity for dance acts seem to have pictures "frozen" in time. While they are good pictures, I prefer when you can show the movement in dance - after all that's what it's about.”

“In case you wonder how I got this effect, I set up my camera on a tripod and took a still photo with an exposure of 10 seconds. Then I took a second photo with an exposure of 10 seconds but half way though, after 5 seconds, I slowly turned the focus of the camera to make the image larger so that the image had a fixed base part plus an expanding image over it. Later I took out about two streaks that were caused by the lights on the other side of Parkway.”

“Before Christmas, took some time to take street shots in St Albans. I like the contrast of warm hands on cold metal and the bright red painted finger nail.”
